THREE-PHASE TRANSFORMERS

Breimer-Roth GmbH produces Three-Phase Dry Transformers as Isolating Transformers or Autotransformers with a construction power up to 1.000.000 VA. The voltage in input and output can be from 1V up to 1.000 Volt (1 KV).

THREE-PHASE TRANSFORMERS – PRODUCT RANGE OVERVIEW

Breimer-Roth GmbH produces Three-Phase Dry Transformers as Isolating Transformers or Autotransformers with a construction power up to 1.000.000 VA. The voltage in input and output can be from 1V up to 1.000 Volt (1 KV).

The input voltages and output voltages are freely selectable, with or without tapping or further separate windings, the construction of the transformer can be selected loss-optimized or cost-optimized as well as the construction power of the transformer can be adapted. Frequency 50/60 Hz is the standard, but other frequencies are also available. Optionally we also offer the suitable housings in the protection class IP 23 – IP 65 in the color RAL 7035, other colors are possible on request. The housings can stand on rollers or skids for forklift transport and can be equipped with crane lugs.

In addition to EN 61558 – previously DIN VDE 0570 – we can also produce the transformers with UL approvals.

Switching group:

As standard the switching group Dny5 with a fully loadable star point (N) and protection class I is set, other switching groups and protection classes are of course possible.

Insulation classes:

Up to a power of 3500 VA the three-phase transformers are manufactured in insulation class B, from 4000 VA in insulation class F. In our series type BDH we offer insulation class H.

Connections

Input voltage and output voltage are connected by terminals, from currents over 340 A on cable lugs or copper plates.

Accessories:

Upon customer request, we complement our transformers with panel meters, motor protection switches, transformer protection switches, inrush current limiters and other accessories. For this purpose, we will be pleased to advise you in detail in order to find a tailor-made solution for your application.

DC power supply:
Input voltage and output voltage are connected by terminals, from currents over 340 A on cable lugs or copper plates.

Construction of three-phase transformers

The design of our transformers is up to a rated power of max. 50 kVA in 3UI transformer core laminations (DIN laminations) and coil formers (BDF, BDH series), higher ratings are manufactured in optimized strip laminations (BDVA series) made of grain-oriented electrical sheet with threaded air coils and built-in air ducts for good self-cooling.

Please note that transformers are not designed to change frequencies (Hz). If frequency conversion is desired, we can provide a coordinated quote.

Special features of the three-phase transformers from Breimer-Roth GmbH

With our Three-Phase Transformers, the customer basically has the choice of whether a cost-optimized variant in terms of purchasing or a loss-optimized variant for cost-effective operation of the transformer is to be used. For this purpose, we can provide you with decision-making aids for choosing the right series on the basis of amortization calculations and Co2 savings.

Areas of application of three-phase transformers

Three-Phase Transformers are the basis of power supply and are used for electrical distribution and transmission of current and voltage, and are used in every industrial plant around the world.

Differences to single phase transformers

The difference with Single-Phase Transformers lies in their reduced size. If you take three Single-Phase Transformers and permanently connect the terminals of the primary windings and the terminals of the secondary windings respectively, you can use these transformers in the three-phase network. The advantage of a three-phase transformer is the reduced size and the associated cost advantage in purchasing as well as the reduced power loss in operation.
In the following you will find an overview of our production program of three-phase transformers, all series according to DIN 0570. Our series BDF is the low-cost variant up to 40 kVA on standardized DIN transformer plates. We use the loss-optimized BDVA variant up to 630 kVA. Voltage combinations are freely selectable. Furthermore, we have versatile universal transformers BDUT, which can be used worldwide due to their numerous voltage combinations, and neutral transformers BNLB. Higher power ratings up to 1 MW are available on request.
