Test stations are complete workstations and testing machines for testing electrical equipment for faults and function. The test stations are realized as semi-automatic or fully automatic test stations, as stations with round-cycle interlinking or also as mobile test stations.

Safety test stations also include all the necessary equipment to guarantee safe operation of the test station.

Manual tests can be carried out reliably using special high-voltage test pistols as test probes. For automated applications, application-specific test adapters are used, with the assistance of which the test specimens are electrically adapted, mechanically fixed and also actuated. To protect the operator, the test then takes place in a test chamber, in a test cage or under a protective enclosure.

A complete test station comprises the machine frame including the necessary feeding and handling equipment, mechanical and electrical adaptations for the test specimens, the complete test technology and control system as well as the safety technology for the test station.
