Low voltage refers to all voltages below 50 volts for alternating current and anything below 120 volts for direct current. Low voltages are divided into three different ranges. The safety low voltage, which can be found in batteries or accumulators and has protection class III. This type of voltage offers protection against electric shock thanks to protection class III. Second, protective low voltage, which is found in audio equipment and amplifiers. Thirdly, the functional low voltage for whose voltage generation no special safety measures are necessary. This low voltage is used, among other things, in control elements of machines.
