UL approved products

Breimer-Roth GmbH has full approval for single-phase and three-phase transformers in accordance with the UL5085 Category Code XPTQ2/XPTQ8 standard for the USA and Canada. These transformers can be used in switchgear and machines without hesitation and do not have to be tested by UL. The prerequisite for full approval is the “Electrical Insulation System” UL1446/Category Code OBJY2/OBJY8, according to which we can produce all other products that do not have full approval. For our all-round service, we also have approval for switchgear and transformers in enclosures in accordance with the UL508A Category Code NITW7/NITW8 standard.

Use of UL/CSA transformers

In order to be able to use transformers or other electrical components in the USA and Canada, a corresponding UL/CSA approval is generally required. As there are many different UL/CSA approvals, it is important to check which standard and category code the product in question is approved to. Often people simply look for a corresponding logo on the product and find that it is suitable. This can lead to considerable problems during commissioning in the USA and Canada. A logo alone is not enough; the standard and the file number must be recognizable on the product.
