Vacuum impregnation

Vacuum impregnation is a process for treating electrical components, in particular windings in transformers, motors and chokes. The components are impregnated with an insulating resin or varnish in a vacuum in order to completely fill cavities, pores and air pockets.

By applying a vacuum, the air is removed from the gaps so that the impregnating agent can penetrate deep into the windings. The material then hardens and forms a solid, insulating and protective layer.

Vacuum impregnation improves electrical insulation, increases mechanical strength and protects components from moisture, dirt and chemical influences. It also helps to reduce noise and extend the service life of electrical devices.
